Art Camp Policies

Updated on April 28, 2025

Please contact me if you have further questions

  • All students are welcome, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, immigration status, ability, or background. Campers are expected to treat each other, and the space with kindness and respect.

If your child has specific needs, requires accommodations, or if there’s anything you'd like me to know to help them feel safe and supported, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m committed to partnering with you to help your child have a wonderful camp experience.

  • You’ll receive a detailed email leading up to your child’s camp in May. It will include:

    • The daily schedule

    • Drop-off and pick-up procedures, including authorized pick-up info

    • A form for emergency contacts, medical needs, and liability waiver

  • While I do my best to create a safe and supportive environment, participation in camp activities naturally involves some risk. A first aid kit will be available in the classroom for treating minor injuries. Families will receive a waiver form by email, which must be signed before camp begins. By enrolling, families agree to release Ms. Serizawa’s Art Camp from liability for ordinary accidents or injuries. Liability insurance is provided by Ms. Serizawa’s Art Camp to help protect participants in the event of an accident.

If an emergency arises, I will contact you immediately and, if necessary, seek medical attention for your child.

  • Nut-Free Camp

To ensure the safety of all participants, especially those with severe allergies, our camp is a nut-free environment. Please do not bring any food or beverages containing nuts. If your child has eaten a nut-based snack before camp, kindly have them wash their hands before joining us.

  • I take reference photos of student artwork to remember projects and improve my teaching.

For promotional reasons, I will not share photos or videos showing participants' faces without prior parental consent. If you prefer your child's artwork or photos not be shared, you can opt out when you receive the camp forms via email.

Please respect others' privacy by not taking or sharing photos or videos of fellow participants without their parent or caregiver's consent.

  • Cancellations between April 1–May 10
You will receive a 50% refund of the total camp fee.

    Cancellations after May 10
By this time, most materials, supplies, rental fees, insurance, and—if enrollment is over 10 students—assistant staffing will already be in place. It’s also difficult to fill last-minute openings.

Thank you for your understanding and for supporting a local small business.

    Exceptions
If you need to cancel due to illness or a family emergency, please reach out. I’ll do my best to work with you.

    If Camp is Canceled
If I need to cancel the camp for any reason, you will receive a full refund, including your deposit.
